KISS Driving Instructor Training

Some excellent news from our Trainee Driving Instructor, "Slav" (prounounced 'Swaav') based near Corby in Northamptonshire. With determination Slav has completed his Part 1 - no mean feat as many of us will recall says trainer Tony of Bishops Stortford. "It took myself several frustrating Part 1 Test attempts to produce the results needed for the Hazard Perception clips. Frankly I think the HP test unfit for purpose as used for the ADI programme - as most experienced drivers anticipate earlier. So well done to Slav for mastering 'the technique' !". Slav has been preparing for his Part 2 for some months now and his trainers wish him speedy progress to Part 3. Slav trains in Peterborough, Cambridge and Bishops Stortford - with occasional sessions at Goodmayes, near London. This was the line-up for Monday's instructor training day in Bishops Stortford. Neil, our latest recruit, is second from Left. Neil is practising for his ADI Part 2 - under the watchful eye of Gary (our ADI from Cambridge), Dave and Tony . Our thanks to two pupils, Ula and Shea, who are working towards their Practical Driving Test - and let trainees (Claire and Gerry) hone their instructional skills whilst fine tuning themselves for their driving tests later this week. KISS driving instructor raining days in Bishops Stortford occur most Mondays. Other KISS driving instructor training days in our commuting area, take place in Cambridge (Fridays), Goodmayes (Saturdays) and Barnet (Fridays).

Our weekly KISS Instructor Training Day in Bishops Stortford was well attended despite an unplanned pupil test which resulted in one of our Trainee Instructors needing to miss her training (whilst she prepared her pupil for an afternoon Practical Driving Test). Along for the day also were two pupils with Practical Driving Tests this week, Jack and Wes. Since Monday we can report that Jack passed his Test. Pupil Wes accompanied KISS ADI Instructor Sara, who has her Standards Check the following Day. Some fine tuning for Wes whose test is Wednesday. The overcast and sometimes wet day did not dampen spirits.

Our congratulations to Sara who undertook her Standards Check at the Bishops Stortford DVSA Test Centre on 4th November.  Sara showed how it should be done and attained a grade 'A' with her pupil Wes. The photo shows both with smiles on their faces shortly after Sara's SC. 

Bishops Stortford Training Day (most Mondays 9am-2pm) continues to prove a popular venue, not because of the humungous size of portions produced by the local burger bar, but because of the range of local routes and practice areas around Bishops Stortford, including Stansted Airport's dual carriageway (A120) and Motorway routes (M11), assisted by what must be KISS's best ADI trainers North of the Thames. A helpful supply of genuine pupils for our trainee ADIs is usually ensured - these are invited by their KISS instructors, typically at intermediate or advanced stages of their preparation for their Practical Driving Test. KISS Driving Instructors (male and female) are mostly impervious to the weather, and so rain, snow, sun or high winds seldom prevent those willing souls from attending. Trainee instructors Gerry, Slav and Claire continue to make great sacrifices in terms of distance to further their preparation for Part III - and regular appearances by Gary and Dav...

Driving instructor training in Bishops Stortford today with Tony and Gary leading. Dave from Romford is doing final preparations for his Part 2 practical driving test in Ilford this week. Claire from East London is nervous about her upcoming Part 1 so is keeping herself busy with Part 2 and Part 3 ADI training . Jerry from Peterborough seems to be coming along nicely now he is out teaching and is obviously impressing his pupils.

The usual ADI training session in Bishops Stortford this morning with four trainees working on Part 2 and Part 3 ADI training . Although he has plenty of experience of delivering driving instructor training James is now most definitely on the training team with Steve and Tony after recently passing his final test. He will now be helping others become a driving instructor in areas like Braintree, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Chingford, Harlow, Loughton and Romford.

As usual, busy day of driving instructor training in Bishops Stortford with five trainees. James from Loughton in particular is totally focussed on the first attempt at the Part 3 test on Wednesday. Gerry from Peterborough has a great big grin on his face as he has been signed off to get his trainee licence and will start teaching very soon. Claire from Hackney and Dave from Romford are both working hard on Part 3 ADI training as their Part 2 driving skills are up to scratch. Tony and Steve are both leading the training session which as usual lasts until 2pm.

Driving Instructor Training in Bishops Stortford with four trainers, five trainees and just two pupils today. Gary , is as ever, working enthusiastically to help everyone as much as possible, Tony and Steve are focussing on James who should be taking his Part 3 test early in the New Year. Gerry is working hard to develop his ADI training skills and has come a long way with his Part 2 driving skills ready for his test at Cambridge Driving Test Centre. We expect to see him teaching pupils in early February. Claire from East London, David from Romford and Kelly from Harlow are all also working towards beginning to teach in their own areas in February.

Good turn out of trainees for Tony and the team in Bishops Stortford considering its school holiday time. Kelly from Bishops Stortford is ready for her Part 2 driving test, working with Jerry from Peterborough to get his voice working better for both Part 2 and Part 3 training, Dave from Romford needs to pass his Part 1 Theory test as he is ready for Part 2 driving test and his Part 3 training is going well. Others are developing their Part 2 and 3 skills and will be taking their Part 3 tests in the next few months.
